Prairie Spirit Theatre Company (A Homeschool Drama Club) PRESENTS…

A Nose for the News

(by Charlie Lovett; Produced by special arrangement with Pioneer Drama Service, Inc., Englewood, Colorado) in Dessert Theatre style.

This witty parody transports the plot of the classic Cyrano de Bergerac to a 1960’s TV station where Cyrano would love to be Roxanne’s co-anchor on the WCDB newscast…  if only he didn’t have such an enormous, bulbous honker!  Meanwhile the scheming station owner has designs to sink ratings so she can collect insurance on the failed business.  Flanked by other zany characters such as Ramona, the “everything tastes better with peanut butter” cooking show hostess; Flip, the adored but inaccurate weatherman, who flips a coin to predict the weather for the day; and Droopy, the melancholic clown, there’s never a dull moment at WCDB!
