    consists of home educating families living in the towns, farms, and acreages surrounding Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.
  • Prairie Spirit Parents Liaison Group

    This group meets with members of the Prairie Spirit School Board to form the Prairie Spirit Home-Based Education Committee. Last year the Parent Liaison group helped draft the new home-based education policy now in effect. Members of the Prairie Spirit Home-Based Educator Parent Liaison group include: Lori Giesbrecht,Kayla Hunt, Teena Ens, Melissa Ong, and Shelley Gilbey.
    Please contact any of these committee members with concerns you would like to be addressed by the PSSD Home Education Committee.

Suzuki Piano and Violin Lessons

Jeanine and Keri Munchinsky are offering music lessons in Suzuki piano and Suzuki violin. Formerly home educated, both have completed a Bachelor of Music through Brandon University, and have been certified through the Suzuki Association of the Americas. In addition, Jeanine and Keri have obtained an ARCT degree in their respective instruments. Both have had numerous years’ experience in teaching music lessons.

Distinctions of the Suzuki Method include: starting at an early age, parental involvement, and learning by listening to music. Parents are expected to attend lessons and practice daily with their child. This allows the child to benefit from continuity of instruction throughout the week. By listening to the music they play, children will learn music more easily and quickly. The Suzuki Method is non-competitive and focuses on skill acquisition and progressing at the students’ pace.

Lesson times are currently available in the afternoons on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. If you are interested in Suzuki music lessons for your child(ren), please contact:
